Devils fall in OT

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Despite a hat trick from Mathieu Fournier, the Fredonia State hockey team would fall in overtime at Buffalo State, 5-4, on Friday. The Bengal's Lance Signoretti scored with 56 seconds remaining in the OT to seal the victory.

The Devils (3-14-1 / 3-8-1 SUNYAC) also received a goal from Hudson Cameron, and Charles-Anthony Barbeau made 38 saves in goal.

The Bengals offense came out firing with a pair of goals within the first six minutes of action. Fournier halved the lead on a power play goal at the 8:21 mark. Signoretti would score his first of two for the game on a power play with 44 seconds left in the first, as the Bengals claimed a 3-1 lead.

Both teams scored once in the second period, with Cameron accounting for the Devils' goal. 

Fournier would provide all the offense in the third period, connecting twice. The game-tying goal came with 14.5 seconds remaining in regulation.

In the overtime, Barbeau made six saves for the Fredonia State while the Devils were not credited with a shot. 

Josh Serino, Xavier Fortin, and Owen Cross each had two assists for Fredonia State. 

The Devils were 2-6 on power plays, and the Bengals went 3-5.

The Bengals improve to 8-10-1 and 5-6-1 in the SUNYAC. Signoretti scored twice, including the overtime winner, and tallied two assists. Aaron Andrade scored twice while Austin Micale picked up three assists. Ben Dardis made 24 saves in goal for the win. 

The Devils take on Brockport on Saturday in a non-conference matchup.
