AUBURNDALE,Fla. -- Fredonia State baseball dropped a pair of games Saturday in Florida, falling 5-4 to Penn State Altoona before suffering a 17-1 setback against Calvin.

Game One vs. Penn State Altoona:

The Devils added another run in the fifth after Nick Vitelli singled and later came home on a Tucker RBI double to leftfield, trimming their deficit to 3-2. Fredonia State tied the game in the sixth thanks to a Zachary Richards' RBI single through the right side. In the eighth, Panek doubled down the left-field line and scored off of a Tucker Schwab's RBI single to give Fredonia a 4-3 lead. Altoona answered in the bottom of the ninth when Kaleb Jockel drew a lead off walk and Judd Dasso ended the game with a two-run homer to left.

At the plate, Fredonia finished with 12 hits. Panek went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, Tucker was 2 for 4 with a homer, double, and two RBIs, and Richards added two hits and two RBIs.

Jonah Church took the loss in relief and is now 1-1 after giving up two runs over 3.1 innings. For Penn State Altoona, Michael Tedrick earned the win in relief to improve to 3-0 after allowing one run in four innings of work.

Game Two vs. Calvin:

In game two against Calvin, the Knights scored early and often, but Fredonia broke through in the seventh inning to avoid the shutout. Vito Verni drove in a RBI single for the Devils lone run.
