GREENVILLE, Pa. — Fredonia State swept all six singles matches and all three doubles flights on its way to a 7-0 victory over Thiel on Monday.
Lucy Prevet led the way at first singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Alivia Fallon. She also teamed with Gabbi Farr for a 6-1 win at first doubles.
Farr was equally impressive in singles action, posting a flawless 6-0, 6-0 decision against Chloe Walton at second singles.
Allison Bartoszek added a strong performance at third singles, defeating Makayla Flock 6-1, 6-0. Bartoszek also paired with Amelia Stathatos for a 6-4 victory at second doubles.
Emily Solazzo earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Emmalea Zummo at fourth singles and later joined Taylyn Stanton for a 6-4 triumph at third doubles.
Stathatos battled through the day's most competitive match at fifth singles. After taking the opening set 6-2 and dropping the second set 7-5, she secured the point with a 10-5 win in the third-set tiebreak.
Stanton rounded out the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Summer Stitt at sixth singles.
"The team went out and played high-percentage tennis by controlling the baselines," Fredonia State coach Jane Gens said.
