Charles-Anthony Barbeau kept Fredonia State in the game after 49 shots -- but it was the 50th shot on goal by Skidmore that would produce a 2-1, overtime victory for the Thoroughbreds. Barbeau registered a .960 save percentage with his 48 stops.
Skidmore's Kyle Ozgun registered a slightly better save percentage -- .963 -- but faced 27 shots allowing the one goal.
The first period was looking like it was going to be scoreless, but at the 19:59 mark, Sam Saccone scored the game's first goal.
The Blue Devils evened the game late in the second period.
Hudson Cameron netted his fifth goal of the year at 17:51.
Gavin Bloder provided the assist. Barbeau made 20 saves in a busy second period.
After a scoreless third sent the game into overtime, Ryan Stratton got the game winner with 1:23 left in the OT. Skidmore improves to 10-9-2 and 7-6-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Devils (3-16-1 / 3-9-1 SUNYAC) head to Plattsburgh on Saturday for a 4 p.m. puck drop.
