FREDONIA, N.Y. -- A bevy of Fredonia State Track & Field athletes will compete at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Regional Meet on Friday and Saturday. Twelve different athletes will compete in a number of events.
"At this point of a long indoor track season, its great to see which athletes are rising to the top," said head coach
Tom Wilson. "The regional championships, especially at the NYC Armory is an amazing experience for any track athlete. With conferences behind us, the pressure if off, its time to simply execute and take huge risks for huge rewards. We will be hoping to break a few more school records and set a bunch of personal bests. For us coaches, we are on cruise control at this point, just supporting our athletes and letting do what they do best. Compete!"

Missing from that list is
Cam Sample in the long jump. At last spring's NCAA Outdoor Championships, Sample was First Team All American after finishing fourth in the long jump.
Other athletes of note include a pair of pole vaulters. Senior
Cara Pellechia is a four-time SUNYAC Champ for the women. Sophomore
Jacob Futch won his first conference championship last weekend.
Jordan Lockett is scheduled to compete three times. He is slated for the 60m on Friday, then the 200m on Saturday. He will finish the meet -- along with Sample -- in the 4x200 relay.
Another pair of SUNYAC Champions,
Emma Gassman and
Talon Rowland, are also able compete in multiple events. Gassman in the 200m and the 400m, and Rowland in the 400m and both the 4x400 and the 4x200 relays.
