BOXSCORE GROVE CITY Pa. -- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team held a 6-4 lead at halftime. However, the third quarter saw Grove City explode for seven goals, outscoring the Devils 7-2, en route to a 13-10 victory on Wednesday.
Cailin Karalus scored three times and had an assist, and
Katie O'Brien and
Kiera Young each had a pair of goals for Fredonia State.
Jessica Kowalski made seven saves and gave up 13 scores in goal.
The Devils scored the game's first three goals, and would lead 6-3 late in the second.
Grove City would score the next five goals, and eight out of nine, eventually taking an 11-7 lead near the end of the third quarter. Young would score with 31 seconds left to make it an 11-8 game heading into the final frame.
Both teams would score twice in the fourth to give the final.
Grove City was paced by Mya Mygatt and Jess Robinette, each with four goals and an assist. Mia Gallagher had six saves in net, and gave up 10 scores. Grove City improves to 3-3
Next up for the Devils (4-2) is a trip to Chatham on Saturday to take on the Cougars.
