FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State hockey team clinched a playoff berth this weekend with the eighth-and-final seed. The Devils are slated to take on the top seed Hobart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening in Geneva, N.Y.
The Devils finished the season 4-13-1 in the conference, while Hobart went 18-0. The Statesmen are also on a 31-game win streak. They have defeated the Devils twice this season, both 7-0 cores.
The eight-team championship tournament will begin with the quarterfinals on February 25 at 7 p.m.
No. 1 Hobart will play host to No. 8 Fredonia State
No. 2 Oswego will play host to No. 7 Buffalo State
No. 3 Skidmore will play host to No. 6 Plattsburgh
No. 4 Cortland will play host to No. 5 Canton
Semifinals are set for Saturday, February 28 hosted by the top two remaining seeds. The final will be Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. hosted by the highest remaining seed.
